Health consideration

If you inform your massage therapist of any existing medical problems before your session begins, they will be able to provide a most suitable and appropriate experience. Also, if you are under the care of a doctor, please consult with them before scheduling a massage. This is especially important if you have any of the following:

Blood pressure is high.

Cardiovascular Disease

Diabetes

Recently had surgery

Osteoporosis and other spine conditions

Cancer

A massage should be both relaxing and completely safe. If you have any underlying conditions that could be triggered by massage movements, let the therapist know ahead of time to avoid any problems.

Keep Hydrated

De Flora Spa recognizes the importance of staying hydrated and offers refreshments to our guests. If you have any concerns, please inform your massage therapist if you are feeling thirsty.

When you have a massage without being properly hydrated, you may feel muscular cramps. A lack of water can also induce symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue. If the therapist sees any of these symptoms before commencing a session, they may ask you to hydrate before beginning your massage.

Stay Relax

Breathing is essential in massage, just as it is in yoga. Calm, regular breathing enhance in relaxation. When you’re calm, your muscles are more flexible and receptive to massage. This also enhances blood circulation, which aids in the oxygenation of your muscles and tissue. Keeping tissue well oxygenated aids in the prevention of cramps.

Breathing consistently also contributes to a more peaceful mood throughout the massage. Follow your breath rhythm to enjoy the most relaxing experience.

Although a massage may leave you feeling perfectly relaxed, a 60-minute Thai massage can burn up to 250 calories or more. Because heat helps to relax your muscles, tendons, and ligaments, a massage may cause you to sweat more than usual.

Avoid Caffeine and Alcohol after massage session

We guarantee that refraining from coffee or alcohol for at least 12 hours following a massage will leave you feeling fantastic. Both are dehydrating and will not assist your body in eliminating the toxins released by the massage.

Keep Relax

One of the best ways to capitalize on the wonderful post-massage feeling is to intentionally choose to remain relaxed. Don’t rush back into normalcy. Instead, get your massage at home, where you can collapse into bed or the couch for a few minutes.
